Moving on from her Amanda Show days, Amanda Bynes is being reported to have made a two-picture deal with Screen Gems.

Easy A will be her first film. It follows Emma Stone starring as a high-school student who is victimized by a false rumor that she has lost her virginity. However, she exploits the rumor mill for her own benefit and becomes wildly popular. Bynes will play a puritanical high-school queen bee.

The second film is being crafted by Screen Gems head Clint Culpepper as a star vehicle for the actress.

Variety reports that Emma Stone (Superbad) is in negotiations to headline the upcoming Screen Gems comedy Easy A.

Penned by New York playwright Bert V. Royal, the film is a high-school-set retelling of Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter. It centers on a student who sees her life paralleling Scarlet’s Hester Prynne after she pretends to be the high school slut in hopes that she’ll benefit from the notion she’s promiscuous.

The film is being helmed by Will Gluck and will start shooting in California soon.
