Giveaway Package to Announce the Disney.com’s Offer to fans the “Chance to Win Ultiurocklogomate Rock Star Experience in Hollywood”

Disney.com launched U Rock 2 this summer because U Rock was so popular last year.  U Rock 2 gives fans the opportunity to create their own music videos set to songs from popular Disney artists, and then they post their original videos on the U Rock site to compete as a video finalist.

The most popular U Rock video finalists are voted on by fans and will win the ultimate rock star experience that includes a trip to Los Angeles, an in-studio “take over” at Radio Disney, a visit to the set of a Disney Channel show and more.

All the videos are uploaded for the second annual U Rock event on Disney.com. Fans can watch and vote for their favorite videos at Disney.com/U Rock or via mobile phone by texting UROCK to DISNEY (347639).*

As an extra perk, song selections can be downloaded from the U Rock 2 site. They include:

  • “One And The Same”by Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez from the Disney Channel Playlist CD, with exclusive music video available on the Princess Protection Program DVD
  • “Paranoid” by Jonas Brothers from their upcoming album “Lies, Vines and Trying Times”
  • “Hey”by Mitchel Musso from his self-titled album “Mitchel Musso”
  • “Ready to Rock”bySteve Rushton featured in the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures’ film”G-Force”

Finalists in each of the U Rock 2 categories will be announced on July 17, 2009 and fans can then vote for their top video picks through July 31, 2009.  Voting categories include “Rock of Fame” which will be awarded to the best overall video for each song, “Tricked Out” recognizing the video with the best graphics, editing and special effects, “Sweet Groove All Star” recognizing the fan with the best dance moves, “Mega Pipes” which honors best singing and “Aww…some!” which highlights the cutest rockers.

U Rock was a huge success last year, so Disney.com brought it back bigger and better this year, with an all new selection of top songs from Disney artists. Once again, Disney invites fans to become a part of the entertainment Disney.com.

As part of the celebration of U Rock 2, Screenhead has a giveaway package:

For the past few weeks it seems all I heard about from my daughter and her friends was Disney’s latest cable TV movie, Camp Rock. I suspect I will hear more about Camp for a few more weeks while Disney Channel and Disney online repeat broadcasts.  I mustn’t forget about Disney Radio playing the soundtrack as well with taped interviews with the stars.

Recently reported the stars of Camp Rock, the Jonas Brothers, have sealed a deal for their own series on the Disney Channel.

Don’t get me wrong. I like the Jonas Brothers and I am impressed with Disney’s marketing ploy.

Friday night it rocked with Camp Rock as Disney snatched up on the average 8.9 million viewers mostly the ages between 6 and 14.  About the last 30-minutes of the movie hit 10 million viewers.   It is obvious that Disney knows what they are doing to generate viewership.  I am sure the next Jonas Brothers movie is in the works, too.
