Dark Knight Crosses $1B

The inevitable has happened: The Dark Knight has taken in more than $1 billion in worldwide box office. It is only the fourth film to do so.

Warner Bros made the announcement yesterday afternoon, stating that the combined domestic and international gross has totaled $1,001,082,160 to date. Half of this figure was made domestically – about $533 million.

Titanic, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest are the only films to have crossed the magic number.

New Dark Knight Poster

batsnewpostersmall Viral marketing for The Dark Knight is reaching fever pitch for the film’s anticipated July 18 release. Following up from Joker’s to-do list, as well as various Gotham City related events, the viral site is now host to a brand new poster that gives us a look into what the Joker has in plan for “the Bat”.

The movie also features Two-Face, though it is not known how big a role he will play in the movie, but I’m pretty sure everyone will be overshadowed by Heath Ledger’s excellent rendition of the infamous character. May he rest in peace.
