From Variety comes word that Universal Pictures is set to adapt Mike Richardson’s graphic novel The Secret into a major film.
Published by Dark Horse, the comic revolved around a group of high school students involved in a prank that goes horribly wrong. Sound familiar? However, he puts a spin on the teen horror thriller, so things are kept interesting and fresh.
Scott Milam is set to adapt the script.

El Zombo Fantasma joins the growing list of comic books that are making the jump to the big-screen. The Dark Horse series has been picked up Death Ray Films and Maya Entertainment.
The series follows the mysterious murder of the world’s most notorious Mexican wrestler who bargains his way out of an eternity of hell by returning to Los Angeles to be a guardian angel to Belisa Montoya, a troublesome teen. However, the teen is not what it seems and he soon finds out that their fates have been intertwined for centuries.
The current plan is to make a live-action adaptation followed by a new animated series.
The adaptation is being written by Kevin Monroe who will direct with Chris Patton, Robert Sanchez, Jose Martinez and Kellvin Chavez producing.
