clashofthetitans-posterscan-med04Sam Worthington is looking good in a collection of posters.  First Showing has a whole collection of them and they are worth a look.  Some sites have had to take them off their site because Warner Bros. made a strong request to do so.

Apparently, they are not the official posters, but creative mock-ups for decision makers, I suspect.

I don’t know how long these will be available to see, but check them out while you can.  Does any one know when the movie opens in the theaters?

clash-of-the-titans-coverSam Worthington in Clash of the Titans appears on the cover of Empire Magazine’s next issue.  In the article you will see lots of pictures and the scoop on all the cast and crew, starting with director Louis Leterrier to Gemma Arterton. Arternon plays the goddess.

Clash of the Titans promises to be more gritter and dirtier.  I am sure the CGI will be awesome!

Empire Magazine is calling the movie 2010’s hottest blockbuster, but I don’t know.  Seeing is believing.

Watching the macho men jump from wires and fight like men who are half gods is pretty cool.  Only, I can’t understand a word their saying.  But it’s fun to watch and looks like it will be an incredible movie. I love Sam Worthington and I still think he’d make a great Frank Sinatra in Scorsese’s movie about the blue-eyed icon.

116748-004-C3821AC0 The Daily Post reports that Warner Bros. is set to shoot scenes for Clash of the Titans in a North Wales quarry and the woods in Newborough on Anglesey.

All major actors, including Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Gemma Arterton and Ralph Fiennes are expected to be involved in the scenes which will involve “battles, stunt work and hand-to-hand fighting”. This will be set around Dinorwic quarry, the second largest slate quarry in the world.

The ten-day shoot will involve around 200 people and will take place over the end of next month.

The film is due out sometime next year.

Sam Worthington tells EW.com that he’s going to make wearing a skirt in Clash of the Titans as manly as possible. I think the superstar stud is doing just that. For more information about the movie, which premieres March 2010,  click on the Worthington’s biceps.

Sam Worthington is definitely making a name for himself as a movie star, super stud with the recent release of Terminator Salvation and Avatar in the wings for a 2009 holiday release. This first official photo of him as Perseus in Clash of the Titans directed by Leterrier gets my muscles twitching with its grit and fury.  First Showing posted this from a scanned picture off the movie magazine Empire.

The script by Lawrence Kasdan perks my curiosity. Kasdan is nearly my favorite screenwriter while being an excellent director. Sure he did Raiders of the Lost Ark, but Body Heat, The Big Chill, Bodyguard and the original Star Wars are great stories of pure entertainment.

These mythical stories are heroic journeys ideal for a good read or the big screen.  Titans tells the story of a god raised as a man, Perseus, who is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld.  As a last ditch effort, Perseus leads a mission to conquer Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and give free rein to hell on earth. Perseus leads a courageous band of warriors as they set off on a journey deep into forbidden worlds, battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts. Perseus will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

danny-huston Word comes from The Hollywood Reporter that Danny Houston has joined the cast of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ remake of Clash of the Titans.

Donning a white beard and a huge-ass trident, Houston will play the sea god Poseidon and will join other Greek deities including Zeus (Liam Neeson) and Hades (Ralph Fiennes).

He joins cast members Sam Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng and Alexa Davalos.

Filming is scheduled to start next Monday outside London. It is being helmed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk).

LiamNeeson The Clash of the Titans remake is getting some big names, as Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes are set to play warring gods in the film.

Neeson will play Zeus, the king of the Olympian Greek gods and father of Perseus (played by Sam Worthington). Fiennes will play Hades, ruler of the underworld who goes up against Zeus in a bid to rule the world.

Other cast members include Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos and Mads Mikkelsen.

Filming is set to begin later this month.

alexadavalos From the Hollywood Reporter comes word that Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) and Alexa Davalos (Riddick) have joined the cast of the upcoming Clash of the Titans remake.

Mikkelsen will play Draco, a skilled fighter and leader of the Praetorian Guard who accompanies Perseus, who is on a quest to save a princess and defeat Hades. Davalos will play Andromeda, the captured princess.

It was reported earlier that Gemma Arterton was cast in the film.

Louis Leterrier directs the film, which will start shooting by the end of the month.

gemma-arterton-pic-001 Bond girl Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) has joined the cast of the remake of Clash of the Titans, a classic 1981 Greek mythological film. She will take on the role of demi-goddess Io.

Arterton had this to say: "My part is… the coolest part. Io’s not in the original film. Perseus falls in love with her… It’s a really great part."

She claims that the remake is more about Perseus’ mission and him dealing with being the son of Zeus.

Perseus is going to be played by Sam Worthington. Shooting is set to begin in a few weeks in Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands.
