Word comes from The Hollywood Reporter that Don Johnson will put a mustache on to star as a facial-haired porn director in the upcoming comedy Born to be a Star for Sony Pictures and Happy Madison.
The film follows Nick Swardson, a small-town nerd, who learns his quiet and demure parents were once famous porn stars in the ‘70s. He then leaves northern Iowa for Hollywood to follow in their footsteps and become the next big porn star.
It is being directed by Tom Brady from a script co-written by Adam Sandler and Swardson himself.

It looks like the casting for Born to Be a Star is rounding out with Stephen Dorff on board the porn industry comedy. 
Reported early at Screenhead, Adam Sandler co-wrote the screenplay and is producing.
The plotline follows on a small-town Midwestern nerd (Nick Swardson) who discovers his parents were famous porn stars. Christina Ricci has already signed on to play Swardson’s girlfriend. Dorff will play “Dick Shadow,” a legendary porn star.
Tom Brady will direct with production starting this week.

Edward Herrmann and Tyler Spindel have joined the cast of Born to be a Star, an upcoming comedy in the works at Sony Pictures.
The film follows a small-town Midwestern nerd (played by Nick Swardson) who discovers his parents were famous porn stars.
Herrmann will play Swardson’s father, while Spindel will play the assistant of a washed up adult-film director who is trying to squirm his way back into the industry.
The film has been written by Adam Sandler. Tom Brady (Hot Chick) will direct.
Shooting starts later this month.
