You’re about to get your first look at upcoming release Splice, being released to theaters worldwide starting this January.  This clip’s been only just starting to make the rounds, so we’re well ahead of the curve on this one.

Splice, featuring Adrien Brody and the spectacular Sarah Polley, is all about the sheer number of things that can go wrong in genetic engineering, especially when you don’t particularly care about things like ethics, laws, and the safety of humankind.

The clip, of course, looks awesome–that’s why I’m putting it up for you in the first place–and this one should definitely do some serious business when it acctually gets its worldwide release.   You can see the clip below, and hopefully, it won’t be terribly wrong after its initial release (the IMDB puts the first country to get this as the Netherlands) before it arrives in the United States.

I never imagined Adrien Brody playing a role that Arnold Schwarzenegger played before. But I guess I have been disabused of that idea.  Now, I can see Brody playing the heroic mercenary who battles alien hunters in Predators. adrien-brody-237301.jpgThis is clearly a reinvention of the Predator franchise that is being spearheaded by Robert Rodriguez.

Brody joins a long list of actors: Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali and Louiz Ozawa. A much larger cast compared to Schwarzenegger’s original Predator where it was pretty much a cat and mouse game with Schwarzenegger as the mouse and the Predator as the cat.

Brody plays a mercenary who tries to keep his team alive when its members are hunted by the aliens. There are high hopes to spring a new franchise, and Brody has signed options to return for future installments.

Nimrod Antal is directing the film, production is about to get under way on location in Hawaii with a release date set for July 9, 2010.

Obviously this is Brody’s first action hero turn, though he is best known for his Oscar-winning turn in the Roman Polanski-directed The Pianist.

adrien-brody Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood and Cam Gigandet have been enlisted as test subjects in upcoming psychological thriller The Experiment.

The film will be a remake of Oliver Hirschbiegel’s award-winning German film Das Experiment, which focused on a group of ordinary men recruited to take on the roles of guards and prisoners as part of a research study that examined how the effects of assigned roles, power and control affected the participants.

Brody is set to play the leader of the prisoners; Whitaker plays a guard who is corrupted by the power he is given.

Shooting begins next month with Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring in the director’s chair.

The Courier is set to star Adrien Brody with Russell Mulcahy to direct the independent action movie.

The story follows a daredevil courier who is chased across the country by corrupt cops and rival crime boss as he tries to deliver a briefcase to an infamous underworld figure who is nowhere to be found.

It sounds like a typical action movie but with the scribes Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (Wanted) it could be a refreshing story.

Filming is set to start in January in Louisiana and Las Vegas.

It’s great to see Marks k Ruffalo, Adrien Brody and Rachel Weisz in a really good comedy.  It might be predictable but it looks like a lot of fun.  The Brothers Bloom trailer — enjoy!

Adrien Brody is set to star with  Emmanuelle Seigner and Elsa Pataky  in “Giallo,” the latest thriller from Italian horrormeister Dario Argento.

“Giallo” story pivots around an American flight attendant who teams with an Italian investigator to search for her missing sister who has been kidnap by a serial killer known as Yellow.

The term “giallo” means “yellow” in Italian and also refers to the Italian pulp, horror and erotic genre of film and literature. It looks like “Giallo” marks the first time an actor of Brody’s caliber has starred in an Argento film.

Production is set to start May 12 in Torino, Italy.
