Watchmen opened a week ago and fans want more, so check out this clip Entertainment Weekly introduced to Screenhead. Warner Bros. has a treat: a companion DVD to the film coming out on March 24, titled Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter.

Also on the DVD is a second companion film called Under the Hood. Running a little longer at 38 minutes, this mini-flick is staged like an old episode of a 60 Minutes-style show called The Culpeper Minute, which takes a nostalgic look back to the early days of the Minutemen — the masked heroes and vigilantes who preceded the Watchmen.

The National Society of Film Critics named their winners this weekend with Waltz with Bashir honored the best picture of 2008. Sean Penn (Milk) and Sally Hawkins (Happy Go Lucky) awarded the best acting honors.

The awards were made known Saturday in New York.

The inventive Waltz depicts the story of one Israeli soldier’s viscous nightmares of the 1982 massacre of Palestinian civilians by Christian Phalangists at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps.

terminator36.jpgDespite not having a release date until next year, the internet forums are buzzing with rumours and opinions about Terminator 4. I have already posted my reservations about McG as a director, but I must admit that there is potential for the Terminator series to develop and explore its mythology further. The Sarah Connor Chronicles turned out to be a pleasant surprise in that it delved into philosophical issues as well as trying to keep the action going.

However, Ain’t It Cool News and many other resources reported on a giant spoiler relating to the new Terminator film, revealing the end of the first part of a trilogy of films. For those who want to take the risk…. Read the rest of this entry »
