Superbad’s McLovin Joins Cast of New Apatow ComedyDecember 7th, 2007 in Actors, Comedy, Directors, Movie News, Movies |
Christopher Mintz-Plasse, better known as “McLovin” or “Fogell” from this summer’s “Superbad”, has just signed on to star in an upcoming Judd Apatow-produced comedy, “Year One”. The film is reportedly a comedy set in biblical times, but the studio is keeping mum on the story line, which is based off a story by Harold Ramis, who along with Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, wrote the screenplay.
Ramis will also serve as director for “Year One”. You might remember him as Seth Rogen’s father in “Knocked Up”, but he also made the classic comedies “Caddyshack” and “Groundhog Day”.
Micheal Cera, Mintz-Plasse’s “Superbad” co-star will be in the film, and I am sad to report that Jack Black has also been signed on. Oliver Platt and David Cross are also in talks to star in the film.
Apatow has had a string of good luck with his latest comedies, and with the bizarre premise of this film, one can’t help but wonder if this might be his first flop. It’s far too soon to pass judgement, however, so we’ll wait on that til we can actually see the film, which at this rate won’t be until probably 2009.
