Variety reports that Steve Oederkerk (Bruce Almighty) is set to pen the superhero comedy Stretch Armstrong for Universal Pictures.
It is based on a 13-inch, blond-haired muscular toy whose limbs could be stretched to nearly four feet. The toy was launched by Kenner in the ‘70s.
A film was in the works back in 1998 with Danny DeVito and later Jackie Chan, but fell through. Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir will produce the new film which joins other Hasbro properties like Monopoly, Candyland and Ouija being developed at Universal.
