Thanks to George Lucas, hi-tech special FX are everywhere and CGI is no longer impressive.
When making the Star Wars prequels the bearded fella forgot that the original trilogy was so good because of what he achieved with lo-tech effects (Vaseline on the lens for the speeders and all that).
So, it’s either fitting or ironic (can’t decide) that somone has achieved an impressive Star Wars related feat with some very very very lo-tech computer graphics.
Someone in New Zealand (I think) has rendered the entirity of the original Star Wars film in ASCII characters (all of which are pictured, above left).
