Abrams, writers and producers are capitalizing on this big time. That being said, I am sure a lot of time and research went into the making of this film in pre-production and the same for marketing. It will be a huge box office draw. The only draw back will be that the fans want more. If you look at the most popular Star Trek episodes (”Trouble with Tribbles” to name one), you will find that they had all the above ingredients. Abrams, writers and producers are capitalizing on this big time.

That being said, I am sure a lot of time and research went into the making of this film in pre-production and the same for marketing. It will be a huge box office draw.
