Apparently the earlier announced troubles figuring out what villain was going to show up in Spider Man 4, now for baffling reasons being referred to as the very leet-speak name of Spider M4n, is now officially on “indefinite hold”.
The biggest problem here is that apparently a script is as of yet uncomplete. This is a bad sign that, for movies, is the equivalent of the moon turning bright red and then bursting into flames. And why is the script incomplete? Executive Meddling on a grand scale. Seems that Raimi and the studios can get straight who’s going to be the special guest villain and who’s not.
Raimi wants The Vulture to be the villain of choice, whilst Sony is pretty much backing absolutely anybody BUT The Vulture, and I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Sony but, come ON, Sam Raimi–The Vulture is one of the worst villains in the Spider Man universe. Get Demogoblin! Get Electro! A Spider-Slayer!
In fact, why not just quit dancing around and get CARNAGE in play already! That’s a villain if ever there was one, and we know that Sam Raimi could handle Carnage!
Something’s got to be done here, and soon, to prevent another Spider Man 3 disaster.
