In her earlier movies, we’ve seen Sigourney Weaver face evil in science fiction and the supernatural. In Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, she was often being attacked by ghosts as Dana Barrett. She also became a strong-willed and resourceful hero named Ellen Ripley, fighting deadly aliens in the four Alien movies to keep them from threatening humanity. Now her acting career takes her back into the realm of the supernatural once again, this time as a vampire.
With the production of a new vampire film called Vamps underway, Weaver is scheduled to join a cast of the undead that includes other actresses such as Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter. The movie’s story takes in a modern-day setting in which Silverstone and Ritter are two lady vamps having a girl’s night out clubbing in New York. During their night of partying, they both find love but their new boyfriends turn out to be human. Thus, confronting the two bloodsuckers with a life-changing decision: keep their immortality at the cost of losing true love or become human to be with the men they love.
Meanwhile, Weaver herself is starring in the film as Ciccerus, the sinister yet sexy vampire queen made the two women vampires to begin with. You can bet that the queen nightstalker probably wants to direct them towards the choice she’d have them make. Set as a horror/comedy movie directed by Amy Heckerling, the movie is scheduled for a late April release.
