Sex & the City Movie Will Not Debut In NYCApril 28th, 2008 in Drama, Movie News, Movies |

“Sex and the City: The Movie” won’t be holding its world premiere in New York City, the city where the entire Sex and the City series is based. Instead, it will be held across the pond in London. The reason the premiere will be held in London is producers’ concerns over the weakened US dollar and economy.
The film will premiere in Leicester Square on May 12, two weeks before it will be opening in the Big Apple. All of the film’s stars - Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Cynthia Nixon - will be on hand at the London premiere.
The film’s makers, however insist that the New York City premiere will be just as big of a deal as the London premiere.

I strongly suggest New Yorkers boycott the movie - at least for the first 2 weeks - to show our disgust with SJP’s decision to insult her most loyal fans by having the film open 2 weeks earlier in UK & Germany. By time it opens in NY, we will have read every detail of the movie - it might not even be worth paying to see it. Perhaps we should all wait until it comes out on HBO. Also, I would recommend we all boycott every product the film is shamelessly pushing - from the designer water and limo company, to Jimmy Choo, Prada, Dolce & Gabanna, and whatever other over-priced designer products. Maybe then they will think twice about insulting us.
