Rumours of a Sex and The City have swirled ever since the show ended in 2004. Rumours of the four principal actresses squabbling over various issues have done an equal amount of swirling. But now Michael Cantone has let slip that a script is in the works.

“There’s nothing definitive yet,” Cantone told AAP.

“I know the script is being written and I know it will be brilliant because Michael Patrick King is writing it.

“I know that I’m in it. I have a nice part in it, I’m told.

“If it happens, we should film it in the early fall I think, but I hope it stays on course because I would love to do it.”

I’m skeptical about this whole thing. First of all the series was wrapped up very neatly, any more story would have to mess with the show’s happy ending.

Second, it’s always depressing when it’s the bit part characters trumpeting the movie. Of course Mario Cantone wants to do a Sex and The City movie, what else is he doing? But it doesn’t really matter what he wants, because without SJP, Nixon, Davis and Cattral this won’t happen.
