I have to hand it to Newgrounds–sometimes they come up with a REAL winner. And when I saw what amounted to a music video for the Dandy Warhols song “Scientist”, I knew that this was going to be one of those sometimes. It’s called Science!, and you’re going to love it.
While in the depths of CERN, home to such exotic projects as the Samuel L. Jackson Cloning Project, The Mines of Moria, and of course, the Large Hadron Collider (actual pic above!), a scientist manages to avert catastrophe…until it’s discovered his computer system is a sadistic little thing with a cruel streak a mile wide. The Large Hadron Collider then, somehow, brings back a velociraptor from the forgotten past. And as the various staffers of CERN consider their futures in a world with a velociraptor, it’s only a matter of time before they start fighting over who gets the raptor. And it’s that fight that makes this such a great video.
It’s well crafted and funny, with a fantastic background song. Packed with in-jokes and little twists you’ll have to watch for carefully, there’s plenty of reason to love science…and love Science! too.
