image015 Remember the big, ugly brute that could bust doors, smash policemen and have sex with an insanely hot girl – all at the same time, mind you – from Sin City? Ya, that was Mickey Rourke, who may be about to get his career resuscitated courtesy of The Wrestler, who talked about his role as Marv in the upcoming Sin City sequel.

Speaking to MTV News, Rourke insinuates that his time was wasted with the role of Marv in the original, but that re-teaming with Robert Rodriguez is enough of a motivating factor to get back into the film’s gritty world.

“I have a lot of respect for Robert Rodriguez,” he said. “It scares the piss out of me to sit in make-up for three hours [but] if the role is written the right way, I would do it because it was a good experience.”

As for wasting his time, Rourke simply states that he wants to “work with interesting directors” and that he is going to “do a lot of work because of the time [he] wasted.”

What do you guys think? Did Rourke really waste his time as Marv? Personally, I don’t think anyone else could don the role as well as he did.

I don’t think he was refering to wasting time on his role on SC1, but generally with his career, i.e. boxing, drinking and carrying on etc.
I think Marv and SC was a rebirth role for him. He was amazing as Marv and one of the best things about SC. I REALLY hope they can come up with a story to include him in SC2.
