Popular stage musical Rock of Ages will be getting the big-screen treatment courtesy of New Line.
The story takes place at a Sunset Strip rock club called Rock of Ages where a man and woman fall in love, but they get torn apart by the rock lifestyle. The musical is powered by popular ‘80s rock anthems, including pieces by Journey, Twisted Sister, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar and Bon Jovi.
Chris D’Arienzo, author of the book for the Off Broadway tuner, will write the screenplay and direct the film.
