Considering that the Oscars have been announced, there must be a lot of proud actors and filmmakers out there. Then there are those who discovered that their films made the Razzies. Oh no.

The Nominees are:

All About Steve: I didn’t see this one, but it was a huge flop, on Rotten Tomatoes 100 worst films of all time one month after its release. You can’t plan that. Isn’t it interesting that Sandra Bullock has received such praise from The Blind Side right after she starred in this stinker? It is, in many ways, inspiring.

G.I. Joe: If you expected a gem from this adaptation that is way overdue, think again. Stephen Sommers proved he could do action with The Mummy and Van Helsing, but these films were not exactly Oscar-caliber, and we knew that before we saw them. Why should this film be any different?

Land of the Lost: Why would you do a film based on a Sid and Marty Kroft TV show that was infamous for its fakey looking dinosaurs and monsters? Because you had Will Ferrell, and you thought that would be enough. It wasn’t.

Old Dogs: From the makers of Wild Hogs, comes a film that rhymes with it. Robin Williams and John Travolta were brought to a new low in this film, and the worst thing was seeing Seth Green sing a breakup song to a gorilla.

Transformers 2: And the winner is! I so enjoyed the 2007 original, and admired that Shia LaBoeuf could carry a film about giant robots at war, but this offering was, at best, terrible. The scenes didn’t make sense, the characters were awful, and the good effects could not eclipse that. It was like the filmmakers said: “let’s give people the Transformers movie they want to see, in such a way that they would never want to see it”.
