When I saw First Blood in 1982, I was unbelievably excited about Sylvester Stallone as the action super star. What a brilliant story with co-stars Brian Dennehy and Richard Crenna. It’s hard to imagine a fifth Rambo is on its way.
Sylvester Stallone is starring and directing as well as repeating his responsibilities similar to his 2008 Rambo.
The story line is something I can get excited about, too, because human trafficking is the number two illegal profit making business while illegal drugs is number one. Like the movie Taken, Rambo 5 has the chance to shed more light on the horrific crime of human trafficing. This time Rambo fights his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border. Production will begin in the spring.
The fourth Rambo grossed $42 million domestically and $113 million overseas. I am guessing with marketing and a great movie, Rambo 5 will gross much more overall.
Stallone is in post-production on Expendables, starring with Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke. The action movie set for release on April 23 through Lionsgate.
