So I’m out on Newgrounds, where I’m pretty convinced that eventually they’re going to have to give me my own wing, when I find one of the latest features, Purgatory Pizza.
It’s an interesting little animation, and chances are, you’re wondering what if anything it has to do with the title. Simple. Purgatory Pizza, you see, is all about a Domino’s Pizza-esque restaurant (that’s currently in a vicious competition with Red Lobster and its perennial favorite Lobsterfest), staffed by several “failed species” and a demon thrown out of hell for cheating Satan at a game of Warhammer.
It’s a great idea, really–with a few extra connections behind it it could be a failed sitcom on ABC, and it almost was with “Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place”–but the only problem is that this initial run goes nowhere, really. It’s exactly like thin crust in that it’s a GREAT idea. More room for toppings by making less crust? AND it’s better for you? Wow! But when you put it into PRACTICE it just can’t hold up. If this is the start of a series, then hey, I’m all for it. But in its current form, despite some clever jokes, it’s just not that worth getting into.

I have to respectfully disagree. PP is nothing like a “failed sitcom” (or a sitcom, for that matter…). I’m not even sure I follow your argument…what’s the PRACTICE the cartoon is failing in/at? I think it’s inventive, funny, quirky, and really has potential. Contrary to a lot of stuff on NG, which has incredible flash animation but a flat/uninteresting story line (”These Pancakes Are Tiny” comes to mind), I think PP offers a nice mix of humor, geekery, style, and ultimately, a neat story line. FWIW.

I’m the creator of PURGATORY PIZZA
This cartoon is meant to be a series, this is the pilot for the cartoon show. I hope when I make more you’ll see that this is “worth getting into”

Purgatory pizza is the greatest, and so is thin crust, are you off your rocker?

Didn’t ‘Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil’ involve a restaurant, the devil, and demons? Shit’s been done. I’ve heard PP supposedly wants a place on Adult Swim but I highly doubt Adult Swim would want something they already have.
This show reminds me of something I’ve seen on youtube. One of those videos a 10 year old made with mspaint drawings and narration, only the 10 year old’s video actually had some substance and fresh ideas.

Well Beurteilen Sie Verderben
Your entitled to your opinion, but I feel like your just being very rude and hurtful.
I created this cartoon, I never even used flash or animated till I started this project. I did all of the art work, all the character animation, even the voice acting for Big T. I hope you never work on something as hard as I did, and have some random person take so little thought in their criticisms
