Portman Strives Humanitarian Projects in Two-Year DealNovember 2nd, 2007 in Actors |
With a catchy name for her shingle Handsomecharlie Films, Natalie Portman sets two-year deal with Participant Productions.
“A Tale of Love and Darkeness” is the first project Portman will helm as her formal entry into features, even though it is not set up by Participant.
Participant projects like “Good Night, and Good Luck,” “Syriana” entertain as well as empower, which brought the two together.
Participant president Ricky Strauss spoke highly of Portman, “She has the heart of an artist and an activist. It just seems like a natural relationship, and we couldn’t be more pleased.”
Portman can be seen on the screen in the soon to be released “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium,” “The Other Boleyn Girl” and “My Blueberry Nights.”
When Portman is not acting, her humanitarian work shines as the ambassador of hope for Finca, an international microfinance organization that provides financial services to the world’s lowest-income entrepreneurs.
