I’ve had a crush on Michelle Pfeiffer since the day I saw her in Grease II. Originally cast because of her gorgeous looks, Pfeiffer has proven herself to be a formidable actress with three Academy Award nominations. Last year some online film critics and bloggers, including myself, devoted a day to a Michelle Pfeiffer blog-a-thon. I was surprised to learn that it has been only as of Monday that Pfeiffer now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Attending were two of Pfeiffer’s co-stars, Paul Rudd, from the forthcoming I Could Never be Your Woman, and Jeff Bridges, who starred in what many Pfeiffer Pfans consider her best film, The Fabulous Baker Boys. Pfeiffer thanked her parents for their advice and encouragement before she embarked on her acting career.
After a five year absence from the screen following While Oleander and the voice work for the animated Sinbad, Pfeiffer has made a major return with Hairspray in theaters now, and the fantasy Stardust opening this weekend. I Could Never be Your Woman is scheduled to open on November 9.
