From Variety comes word that Michael Petroni (Afterlife, The Book Thief) has been hired to write The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader for Walden Media and Fox 2000.
He replaces Richard LaGravanese who penned the most recent draft of the C.S. Lewis novel adaptation. The project recently faced cancellation when Disney pulled the plug on co-financing the project.
Walden hopes to start production this summer and aims to release the film in time for the 2010 holiday season.
