Oh MAN, this is some truly awesome news! Seems that Paranormal Activity, which got an anemic twelve market opening but still managed to turn in an impressive opening weekend, is expanding to an additional TWENTY CITIES. Sadly, none of them are within a hundred miles of my front door, but hey! You never know.
Seems that better than two hundred thousand horror fans got on their computers over the weekend and filed demands with paranormalmovie.com to have the film brought to their town, and they certainly got their wish. The audience just tripled over one weekend.
About the only way I could be happier about this is if Paranormal Activity were brought to a theater near me, but still–the fact that a legion of horror fans got something useful done makes me feel all warm and fuzzy down in the cockles. I’m hoping that this one’s got a really, REALLY short DVD window because I’m pretty eager to see it myself. Well, not eager enough to make a couple hundred mile trip, but still.
Enjoy it, horror fans–you earned it.
