Chris Hemsworth is joined by Josh Peck (”Drake & Josh”, “The Wackness”) and Adrianne Palicki (”Friday Night Lights”)
in MGM/UA’s reboot of Red Dawn. Entertainment Weekly has exclusive reports about the casting of the cult favorite, which starred Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey and Charlie Sheen.
The story is about a group of teenagers who form a guerrilla, a band of soldiers harassing the enemy by surprise raids and cutting of supply lines and so forth, when their town is invaded by Chinese and Russian soldiers.
Peck plays Matt Eckert — the role created by Charlie Sheen – star quarterback and the hotheaded younger brother of Hemsworth’s Jed Eckert. Palicki plays Toni, the role first created by Jennifer Grey. She’s a tough chick who can fight. Toni meets the brother and develops romantic feelings for Jed, a Marine home on leave and the group’s unofficial leader.
THR reports that Dan Bradley, a stunt coordinator and second-unit director on The Bourne Ultimatum and Quantum of Solace is set to direct the reboot version on the 1984 Cold War-era film. Production begins in September
