John Turturro’s latest film, “Romance & Cigarettes” is now in theaters! The line-up of actors and actresses starring in this film is pretty impressive, and includes: Kate Winslet, James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, Mandy Moore, Christopher Walken, and Steven Buscemi.

The film is a “down-and-dirty” music love story, starring Nick (Gandolfini) as a New York ironworker married to Kitty (Sarandon), with whom he has three grown adults.  Nick is secretly carrying on a passionate affair with the red-headed Tula (Winslet).  When Kitty catches Nick, and Tula wants commitment, Nick finds him self in a rough spot.  A good man at heart, Nick must find his way back to his family before he runs out of chances.

The soundtrack to the film is equally impressive, featuring songs by James Brown, Engelbert Humperdinck, Bruce Springsteen, Janis Joplin, Tom Jones, and more! Being a musical, you can expect the stars to break out in song, singing along, sometimes lip-syncing and sometimes in full voice.

Stay tuned for the Screenhead review of “Romance & Cigarettes”, coming soon!

They filmed one of the sequences for this down the block from my apartment in Red Hook! That was an exciting. It’s not exactly the most photogenic block so we weren’t used to people coming to film there. Also, they were filming with a firetruck, etc. so at first we thought our block was on fire. Then we got closer and saw who the firemen were!
