Way back in May, we told you how excited we were to see ‘Speed Racer’ adaptation to the big screen . We have great news to report on the movie directed by brains behind the Matrix Trilogy: ‘Speed Racer’ will be released at IMAX theaters May 9th, the same day as when it opens at the regular theater. The reason they are doing this is because the movie is so visually spectacular.

“Audiences will experience an incredible thrill ride when they see Speed Racer in IMAX theaters this May,” added Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. “Warner Bros Pictures, The Wachowski Brothers and Joel Silver are masters at telling stories specifically for the big IMAX screen, and with up to 14,000 watts of digital surround sound combined with crystal-clear, larger than life images, this movie and IMAX are made for each other.”

So if you were making plans to see the movie when it was released, it is probably a good idea to go “full throttle” and see ‘Speed Racer’ in a venue that will make the movie that much better and give you the chance to see the film how it was designed to be seen.
