New Shrek The Third Trailer Review

We hated the Shrek The Third teaser that was released recently, so Dreamworks went away and put some work into polishing it up for us. We’re that powerful.

The new version is a massive improvement, giving some idea of the story as opposed to just some some poorly edited old favourites like Puss doing the big eyes. Pinocchio playing the yes/no game is a smart idea, the sort of thing that made Shrek worth watching.

Maybe not as exciting as the original Shrek sequel, but that’s just the law of diminishing returns with a franchise. Even if the quality stays steady, we tire of the concept.

But this new cut is a great example of how little alterations make all the difference in a trailer.

For an even better example, have a look at this awful Star Wars trailer from the ’70s.
