Big news people. Columbia have bought the rights to make a Cleopatra film, based on an upcoming book. Not the long overdue bio-pic of the short lived UK RnB queens… the other Cleopatra.
Famous in her own right, but made even more famous by Elizabeth Taylor’s portrayal opposite on/off hubby Richard Burton in the 1963 epic.
As Total Film point out, there will be an almighty battle among Hollywood’s leading ladies to play the titular Egyptian Queen.
Here are a few early options:
- Angelina Jolie (dark hair, hot, regal looking)
- Rachel Weisz (skin so soft she may already bathe in asses milk)
- Leonor Varela (familiar with the role)
- Julia Roberts (already Queen of Hollywood)
- Kirsten Dunst (similarities with “Marie Antoinette”)
