reno911review.jpg

A few months back, I wouldn’t have dreamt that I would actually watch this movie. My brother insisted how funny the boys from the Reno series were so, succumbing to peer pressure, I decided to give the movie a spin tonight. What did I get? About what I expected.

The movie is more a series of clips than a coherent movie. In the “you tube” generation that is probably a good thing for a filmmaker. Funny at times, the movie is always over the top when it is trying to score a laugh. Spoofing ‘Cops’ for an hour and half probably is the recipe to please viewers with short attention spans that don’t have the patience to sit down for a serious film.

I am one that isn’t afraid to hit the eject button and the movie played throughout. I was entertained at times and bored at others. And that is the audience ‘Reno 911! Miami’ aims to please. The college fraternity gang who, while pounding some beers, will get their laughs and fair share of nudity in the unrated version of this film.

I suggest getting familiar with the characters by watching the television episodes before renting this movie, otherwise, most viewers will not last more than a few scenes.
