Adapted from the Newberry Award winning novel, Bridge to Terabithia tells the story of two preteens that don’t fit in well with other kids. Jess (Josh Hutcherson) is a poor farm boy and Leslie (AnnaSophia Robb) is the intellectual new girl that never watches TV. Together they create a fantasy land called Terabithia where they can escape and rule a mystical kingdom.

One day Jess decides to ditch Leslie and instead accompany a very hot teacher to a fancy art museum. When he arrives home, he hears the news that Leslie had a tragic accident. Jess has a difficult time dealing with the guilt of not being there for Leslie.

The acting and cinematography are well done, but the movie falls flat. Unfortunately the director and producer did not know whether they wanted to do a drama or a movie aimed to entertain kids. They tried to do both and that is the problem. Due to the tragic story line, the movie will not be appropriate for children under 12. The film also tried to hard to appeal to children with a sappy soundtrack and too many songs, this will not appeal to adults. Save your money and rent this one, no need to keep it in your permanent library.

I Think There Will Be A Sequal. And in The Sequal We’ll Learn That Leslie Is Somehow Not Really Dead(I Mean We Never Saw A Dead Body) But Kidnapped By An Evil Force Within Terabithia. And Somehow Jess And His Sister Figth The Forces And Get Her Back. And Their Story For Where She Was When They Thought She Was Dead Was With A Family That Found Her Floating Down the Whatever And Took Her To The Hospital, Found Out She Had Amnesia But Then She Started Drawing And Remembered Terabithia Which Is How She Got Back Into Terabithia. And Then She Remembered Her Old Life With No Tv And Such And She Tells Her New Parents And They Find Her Real Parents And Such And Such Just A Couple Of Ideas I’m Not A Writer So Sorry If Not Everything Is Clear! But I Think I Could Write A Decent Better Than The Original Sequal To This Movie!
