According to industry reports, we will soon be seeing the likes Marvel’s The Avengers and DC Comics Justice League of America on the big screen.  Marvel Studios has already signed on Zak Pen (X2, The Incredible Hulk) to write the screenplay based on The Avengers series.   DC Comics is a bit further along, already having a script completed by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney.  Right now, DC Comics is  on the hunt for a director.

Both The Avengers and Justice League series include a number of popular superheros.  Justice League has included Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern, and Flash; while The Avengers have included (at some point) Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Wolverine.

One possible complication in the making of this film is that there are already various films in the works for several of the individual characters, so determining which ones would show up in the film, as well as the timing of the release, could make things tricky. With that being said, however, we’re not likely to see any actual films for at least a couple years.
