A musical remake of 1983 cult comedy Valley Girl is going to be directed by Jason Moore, the man behind Shrek: The Musical.
The original was a romantic comedy that followed Nicolas Cage and Deborah Foreman living in suburban San Fernando Valley. The new version, penned by Amy Talkington, reimagines the film as a “Romeo and Juliet”-styled musical built around the movie’s new wave soundtrack.
It is being produced by Sean Bailey and Matt Smith. Expect to see and hear it sometime next year.
