Here is the latest Vanity Fair piece on Miley Cyrus who plays Hannah Montana. Apparently, this issue is a hot issue because Miley looks older than her true age of fifteen in the magazine photos. Disney came out and made a statement, Miley came out and made a statement and Annie Leibovitz (photographer) came out and made a statement. Why can’t these magazines just leave this girl alone, is it because she is making so much money that they feel the need to cash in on her also? That pic on the guy’s lap, I don’t see anything wrong with it. As far as they claiming she is naked and wearing bikinis and so on and so forth… why are they so hyped on a 15 year old being naked? shouldn’t these people be prosecuted or something for this? Come on people, don’t be perverts… It is not as if she is driving a vehicle under the effects of coke or vodka like Lindsay…

Good points Fonzie. Actually, I think, if Disney is so concerned for their talent, they should assist in the matters as they materialize. It could be that Miley will eventually wean off Disney and go her own way like Shia, Zach and Ashely. I only hope she hires a PR firm who knows how to prevent these unnecessary hypes or yellow journalizm.

I do believe that when you have such young and impressionable fans you do have to be VERY careful with what you do when your in the public eye, but I also think that if Disney has such major concerns with their actors/actresses behavior and future dealings (WHATEVER THEY MAY BE) then they should have some type of contract stating what everyone can and can not do. Disney also needs to understand that EVERYONE grows up at some point.

From a 16 year olds point of view. This is what I see I see that Miley is comfortable with herself and who she is. She’s comfortable with her body. She’s not nude, you can’t find a nude picture of Miley. She’s very modest with her pictures, and sience when is that a crime to know your preatty and modestly show it off? Personaly I think it’s amazing that she has the guts to go out there and show that “Ya this is who I am and yes I’m preatty.” She’s showing girls from like 3 to just about 18 even older that you don’t have to be nude or twig thin [I say this because Miley's ribs arn't protruding from her body, she has a great figgure.] to be preatty. You just have to be conmfortable with yourself, and who you are. I think it’s amazing. That’s a great trait, to show that, Miley is an insperation to girls young and old. The message she’s sending out will help younger girls grow up confident with themselfs with pride in there steps. As for older girls such as myself, it shows that you don’t have to be a slut, or one of the supper ultra skinny girls to be preatty. You just have to be yourself. I know I say that over and over again. But it’s true you just have to be yourself and be comfortable and proud of that. I persoanly don’t think Miley should be embarressed about these pictures, I think she should embrace them. As for the picture with her and her father, I completely love that. I plan to mimic that picture with my own father. It’s amazing. Miley has nothing to be ashamed of, and the media needs to step off. She’s an idol for girls young and old and that’s a ruff spot to be in, and I think she balances it preatty darn good.

Thanks so much for writing; it’s important to see this situation from someone like you. My daugher likes her show, and I have watched it here and there. I find it entertaining but more on the level for kids. I see no harm in her show; it’s about friendship and honesty — important elements in life.

I have 3 little girls ages 5,6,and 9 who absoltely love Miley!! there isn’t a space on their bedroom walls that doesn’t have her picture on it!!
all 3 of my girls have seen this pictures and were not bothered by it at all. the one of Miley and her dad my 9 year old especially liked and her comment was “awwe Miley looks really cute and you can tell she really loves her dad.”
society and the media are always going to make jabs at the stars-it’s just part of the cycle. given the past few “role models” (if you can even call them that-ha!!) our girls have been given-Miley stands out a hundred times above the rest!! She is sweet,caring, and is very concerned about how her image effects her fans which is way more than I can say for Brittany,Leslie, etc.
I’ve been a fan of Billy Ray for YEARS and I think he’s a loving and devoted father.
I see nothing wrong with the pics and hope Miley continues doing what she does best and that’s be herself!!

I personally think miley is just being herself. She is not nude in ANY of the photos. If she is comfortable in doing it i would say just let her do it. She is only expressing herself in a way she feels comfortable doing it.

I think that she can be comfortable with herself, but she is sort of setting a wrong example for her YOUNGER fans. All of you have great perspectives, i agree with all of you for some points of view. Miley is growing up but she probably needs to be a little more self concious of herself for young fans who want to be “just like her.”
