Lust, Caution tagged NC-17 by MPAA!
Among the scenes that offended the prudes at the MPAA were the too-many-to-count pelvic thrusts, oral sex, and a few positions other than “missionary”. Director Ang Lee has final cut, and Focus Features has committed to releasing the film in this final form. Even though the NC-17 rating means that Lust, Caution will play in fewer theaters and make substantially less money, the rating has been accepted without protest by Focus CEO and Lust, Caution co-screenwriter James Schamus. Lust, Caution has been set for a theatrical release in New York City on September 28, followed by more cities on October 5. The film will have festival premieres in Venice and Toronto. Leave a Reply |
