So much in love with movies

Lust, Caution tagged NC-17 by MPAA!

lust, cautionThose wise folks at the rating board have evidently made it clear that while it might be OK for an adult guardian to take their kids to see women treated literally like slabs of meat, seeing two consenting adults making love is something for adults only. Lust, Caution could well describe the outlook of the MPAA which has no problem with the fact that children can, and do, see such films as Hostel II which features several decapitations.

Among the scenes that offended the prudes at the MPAA were the too-many-to-count pelvic thrusts, oral sex, and a few positions other than “missionary”. Director Ang Lee has final cut, and Focus Features has committed to releasing the film in this final form. Even though the NC-17 rating means that Lust, Caution will play in fewer theaters and make substantially less money, the rating has been accepted without protest by Focus CEO and Lust, Caution co-screenwriter James Schamus. Lust, Caution has been set for a theatrical release in New York City on September 28, followed by more cities on October 5. The film will have festival premieres in Venice and Toronto.
