Looking Forward to The Lookout

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most interesting actors to come along in a while. If you saw his performance in the stylish “school-noir” flick Brick then you’ll agree.
In The Lookout he plays a once promising high school athlete (looks like he played hockey from the trailer) who’s potential career is ruined in a car crash (a la Unbreakable) which leaves him emotionally and mentally damaged. When he takes a job as a janitor at a bank, he gets embroiled in a fellow former students plan to rob said bank.
It looks nice and dark, and though there isn’t any trace of humour in the trailer it seems impossible that Scott Frank - screenwriter behind Out of Sight and Get Shorty, making his directorial debut - will fail to deliver a few smart zingers.

Who knew the kid from 3rd Rock would go on to do some great film work? His performance in Mysterious Skin is also wonderful, and that film in general was well done…difficult to watch, but worthwhile. Greg Araki has never been so good.
