Lionsgate has acquired feature rights of “The Hunger Games” and Collins will adapt her own novel, the first in a trilogy, was published in the fall. I suppose it could be interestingly done, but it’s certainly not a new idea. Makes me think of films like The Running Man (and the original short story), Battle Royale and the like.

I am excited for this to be a feature! Mrs. Collins presents a wonderful story on how war effects those who are coming of age. A piece for our times. It makes one ponder how we are effecting our children. What are we going to do about it? I am glad that she will adapt it. That means we will get all the story line.
