Lil’ Bush Premieres Tonight on Comedy Central
June 13th, 2007 in TV

Tonight Lil’ Bush, the popular animated satirical show portraying George W. Bush and his inner circle as a band of mischievious kids, will make its television debut on Comedy Central.
The cartoon was created by Donick Cary, who first created the cartoon about Bush for cell phones. Since debuting on the mobile network last fall, Lil’ Bush has become the most-viewed video on the network. Cary is hoping that his cell-to-TV crossover move will bring the cartoon an even wider audience.
To Cary, George W. Bush’s White House resembles a class of ten-year-olds, which is reflected in the cartoon.
“The politics of Washington are so childish on a basic level that it almost seems like a schoolyard,” commented Cary.
Lil’ Bush tells about the fictitious adventures the United State’s current president, featuring him as a young school boy. However, it is set in the real political context of today with one exception - the country’s president is his father, George Bush Sr.
Lil’ George Bush, the cartoon’s title character, lives in the White House with his mom and dad, and gets into all kinds of mischief with his school pals Lil’ Condi, Lil’ Cheney, and Lil’ Rummy. If it wasn’t clear enough already, these characters were inspired by the real-life Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Vice President Dick Cheney, and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Other Washington big-names like Lil’ Hillary Clinton and Lil’ John Kerry also make appearances from time to time.
Lil’ Bush will start promptly at 10:30pm EST tonight on Comedy Central. The show will run as a series of 12-minute episodes. Tonight’s episode tells about Lil’ George’s trip to Iraq, where he hopes to find some good news about the war that might help cheer up his dad for Father’s Day.
I’ll be tuning in, will you?
