Las Vegas Critics Keep the Trend

nocountryforoldmen_bigposter.jpgKeeping the trend going this award season, Las Vegas Film Critics Society of their 2007 Sierra Awardstherewillbeblood_galleryposter.jpg publicized a tie for the most awards to “No Country for Old Men” and “There Will Be Blood.”

“No Country for Old Men” took picture, director (Joel and Ethan Coen) and supporting actor (Javier Bardem).

“There Will Be Blood” Sierra Award winners were Robert Elswit for cinematography, Daniel Day-Lewis for actor and Jonny Greenwood for score.

Actress nod went to Ellen Page in “Juno,” supporting actress to Cate Blanchett for “I’m Not There.” Diablo Cody also won for “Juno” screenplay (original or adapted).

“Ratatouille” received two recognitions for animated picture and family film. Michael Moore’s “Sicko” won an award for documentary.

The William Holden lifetime achievement award was given to James Hong, who is seen this year in “Balls of Fury.”

This is the Las Vegas Film Critics Society 11th year and is comprised of 12 print, television and Internet film critics in the Las Vegas area.
