This is great news for those of you who love your self-loathing Jews (although both have admitted their self-loathing has nothing to do with being Jewish). Larry David is hot property at the moment, having broken the curse of Seinfeld by creating and starring in a show that is, arguably, better than the hit sitcom. David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm has finished its sixth season on HBO, with rumours of another one on its way next year.
Woody Allen may not be storming the box office these days (with his latest, Cassandra’s Dream, performing even worse than expected), but he does have a tendency of great casting, such as working with Scarlett Johansson on three of his own films, including the upcoming Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Very little is known about Allen’s new film, besides it being a return to New York as a location. Larry David is to play the lead, with Evan Rachel Wood (Thirteen, Across the Universe) starring alongside him. Before David created Seinfeld, he actually appeared in two Woody Allen films, as a neighbout in Radio Days, and in Allen’s section of New York Stories, but the most important question is whether those pretzels will be making David thirsty.
