Knocked Up Trailer Review

Steve Carrell got all the credit for The 40 Year Old Virgin, and maybe that wasn’t fair. He was funny, but that film’s success can’t all be down to one man. As if to prove it, writer/director Judd Apatow’s sophomore effort Knocked Up will star Seth Rogen (Carrell’s mate Cal in Virgin) as a man who impregnates a woman (Grey’s Anatomy’s (and Zyzzyx Road’s) Katherine Heigl) on their first date.

It’s a nice spin on the usual rom-com, running a relationship in reverse a bit like the not great but watchable Matt Perry-Salma Hayek vehicle Fools Rush In.

Looks like Knocked Up (which I think is a great title, nice and blunt) will have all of Virgin’s warm charm, with Rogen’s Ben accidentally making a baby instead of not having done that thing you have to do to make a baby. If he can carry this movie it could even make a star out of Rogen the same way Carrell went supernova after Virgin.
