Australian star Nicole Kidman has attached herself to BBC Films’ adaptation of Chris Cleave’s bestselling novel Little Bee. Kidman will act in the film which she is also producing.
Being transferred to the screen by Shawn Slovo, the movie will follow a fateful encounter on an African beach in which a 16-year old Nigerian orphan named Little Bee meets a vacationing upper-middle-class British couple who have wandered into the area outside the safety of their resort.
Slovo is known for his work on Catch a Fire and the autobiographical A World Apart. He was born and raised in South Africa and relocated with her family as a teen to the UK as a political refugee.
