Versatile actor Djimon Hounsou is set to star in and produce a feature film about immortal sorcerer Thulsa Doom, a central figure in the “Conan the Barbarian and Kull” comic books.

Doom is set to be featured with his own comic book series.

The character first appeared in the Robert E. Howard pulp story “Delcardes’ Cat,” published in the 1930s.

Doom was portrayed by James Earl Jones in 1982’s Conan the Barbarian.  

The film will focus on the origins of the flawed hero and depict how his road to hell was paved with good intentions.

The film is in development without a studio so far.  Cross your fingers Thulsa Doom is a character not to scorn.
