Goldberg and Cates Talk

If you have been reading or hearing the latest news about Whoopi Goldberg not being mention in the Oscar celebration as a host for Oscars in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002.

It was quite a oversight if you ask me.

It looks like producer Gil Cates called and apologized for not including her in a montage featuring Oscar hosts during Sunday’s Academy Awards telecast.

Apparently, Cates called her Tuesday and “talked about the fact that he had made an oversight, pure and simple.

He said, `You know I love you,’” Goldberg said Wednesday on ABC daytime talk show “The View.”

Goldberg, who called Cates a “great gentleman,” accepted his apology.

She said she has “moved on” since choking up on Monday’s show when her fellow co-hosts discussed how she was left out of the clip.

Gil Cates must think we’re all stupid or a bunch of dunderheads. His oversight “pure and simple” was planned and it was meant to upset Whoopi Goldberg. How can you overlook someone who hosted the Oscars four times? And they were memorable times at that. At some point the montage had to have been reviewed before showing it Sunday night. And no one in Cates’ think tank said, “Hey, Where’s Whoopi?” Every one else did immediately after it was aired. How many other African-American hostesses were there to remember? This guy is no gentleman and Whoopi should remember this if they ever ask her to host again!

You must be kidding. Poor me, poor me. I wasn’t part of the Oscar montage. Wha, wha. These Hollywood bags need get over themselves. It makes me sick to think that these people make it publicly known the are attention whores. It just makes her look even more stupid.

Jim Raines, your are exposing your diseased soul, by sharing with us your vicious, and mean spirited comments.

    Please keep it to yourself.

  4. Peter Says:

There’s nothing attention-whorey about it (I don’t even think she was the one who initially brought it up on The View). It was disrespectful of them to not include her.

  5. Kenna McHugh Says:

Great comments. Why wouldn’t Cates remember? I remember Whoopi even before the 80th celebration. Remember when she came out wearing different costumes from various movies that were nominated. That was hilarious.

Hey Amin, why don’t we see a montage of the double amputees with a wife and 3 kids coming home from Iraq? The Hollywood machine is made up rich, whiny, people who constantly need pats on the back to let them know they are “important”. Our sense of importance in this country has gone in the toilet. Crying because she was “included” in an Oscar montage? Are you all joking? This must be a joke. Poor Whoopi. Maybe she needs to make a few extra million dollars to make her feel better.
