They’ll travel over 900 miles through African terrain that is as stunning as it is fraught with danger. Using only a compass and basic maps, they will attempt to recapture the spirit of one of the world’s most remarkable adventures-journalist Henry Morton Stanley’s perilous 1871 journey to find Dr. David Livingstone. Every time someone mentions Africa my head pops up like a meerkat scanning the horizon. It has been a lifelong fantasy vacation spot for me since I was a child. And I’ve wanted to go on a photographic safari since I became an adult and even considered going there as a nurse to work among the outlaying villages. I would love to win this for my son because he hears me speak of Africa so often, now he too has caught the dream.

Nice prize, this would be fun to take the kids on a backyard safari with. We can track down and photograph such wild animals as the neighbors cat, brown squirrels, the ever elusive black squirrel, maybe even a robin or two. Thanks for the fun contest!
