On November 13th, just in time for the holiday season, Shout! Factory is releasing two Johnny Cash Christmas Special DVDs from 1976 and 1977. This marks the first time in 30 years that these famous Christmas specials will be seen.
The two DVDs to be released are The Johnny Cash Christmas Special 1976 and The Johnny Cash Christmas Special 1977. These releases are the first to come out of an exclusive new agreement between Shout! Factory and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. 1976 special features hosts Johnny and June Carter Cash, and guests Tony Orlando, Roy Clark, Merle Travis, and Barbara, Mandrell and Billly Graham.
The 1977 special includes a special tribute to Elvis Presley, who died just two months prior to the taping. The special was taped at the Grand Ole Opry House, where Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbison joined Johnny Cash in the moving Elvis tribute.
