“Signs” and “We Were Soldiers” are the last films Mel Gibson starred in, but won’t be true for long.Â
Variety reports that Gibson is committed to star in “Edge of Darkness.”
Oscar winner William Monahan wrote the script and Martin Campbell is directing.
Gibson plays a respectable police investigator whose activist daughter is killed. He immerses himself into the case and uncovers systemic corruption that led to his daughter’s death.
Gibson had long been a fan of the story, which was a 1985 BBC mini-series, and was receptive when King and Campbell approached him several months ago.
