The Ghostbusters Ecto 1 for sale is not the original movie car. It is a very accurate replica by George Barris, built on a slightly different 1959 Cadillac ambulance. The one in the movie was a Miller-Meteor “combination” coach: used as both a hearse and ambulance. The one for sale is a 1959 Cadillac Eureka combination. A subtle difference, but significant enough to disprove its authenticity. Just thought you ought to know. Most people believe it is the actual one from the movie. Unfortunately, the real Ecto 1 (and Ecto 1a from Ghostbusters 2) is sitting in an open lot at Sony Studios in California, rotting away. Sony won’t let anyone see it, let alone entertain any offers ($150,000 seems high for this one, but the real one would probably be worth a mint more).

I’d love to own my own Ecto but unfortunely I don’t have that kind of money floating around at the moment
